We hired Debra Bell to do our wedding pictures. She captured all the small things that made our day wonderful, every little emotion, every little detail. The pictures were perfect; she was perfect. We just didn't get amazing photographs, we also gained a friend.

We cannot say enough good things about Debra Bell. We live in Pennsylvania and most of our wedding planning took place on the Internet. Planning a wedding can be quite stressful, but planning it from over 500 miles away can be even more stressful! Fortunately, we found Debra. We had contacted a couple of wedding photographers in the Bangor area, but when Debra responded to our first e-mail, her professionalism and talent stood out above the rest. She promptly mailed us samples of her work from the Bangor Daily News and information about her services. From the materials she sent us, it was obvious that she was thorough and detail-oriented and we knew we had found our photographer. During a trip to Maine, prior to our wedding, Debra drove to our wedding location to meet with us in person. She even scoped out the surrounding area to identify good places for our staged shots, taking into consideration how the light would fall at the time of day of our wedding.
On the day of our wedding, Debra was prompt, professional and courteous. Living up to her photojournalistic style, she managed to capture all the important moments, while seeming to disappear into the background. The only time she “orchestrated” any pictures was for our “couples” shots, and even then, it was comfortable and relaxed. We couldn’t be happier with the final product and our photos impress even our friends and family. Debra is a wonderful photographer to work with and we would recommend her without hesitation!

I, like other brides out there, did the search for hours on end to find the right photographer who could give me exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a photographer with creativity and elegance as well as one who had a journalistic approach to capturing every moment!! I found that with Bell’s images!
I have recently used Debra Bell and her photography for my wedding in Aug. ’08. From the beginning, I was very pleased with Debra's work. She was ever so generous to allow my new husband and I to visit her home to get a real sense of who she was as well as take a first hand look at her work. Our wedding photo experience with Debra was wonderful and very enjoyable. She was very professional and creative and worked very hard to make everything as easy and as uncomplicated as possible.
All of our photographs turned out more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. She did an incredible job — looking at the photos afterwards it felt like there were several photographers there to capture all the moments, not just her. Our experience working with Debra Bell was wonderful from start to finish! We found her through one of the wedding websites. In the beginning, she was very flexible about our initial consultation and even came to my parents’ house on MDI in order to meet with us. We were pleased with the sample photo albums that she showed us and she was very helpful in explaining the different pricing options to us.
On the actual big day, she was fantastic! She managed to capture all of the important moments throughout the big day without being intrusive or overbearing. We had a reluctant flower girl and she was fantastic in getting her to open up and take beautiful pictures. We had a very nice mix of candid and posed shots that we were very pleased with. She got all of the pictures on our “list” without it being a “marathon” photo shoot! She even stayed for an extra hour at the reception.
After the wedding, we loved the results! The photos were gorgeous and truly captured our day. Our family and friends loved that they were able to purchase pictures off the wedding website and we appreciated the flexibility of having a digital copy of all of the pictures.
We were thrilled with the results and couldn't be happier with the pictures from our wedding. I would absolutely recommend Debra Bell to any prospective wedding party.

Recently, I visited Debra Bell with my dog Gordon for a pet photo session and was amazed at how quickly Deb put him at ease. Rascal was a miniature, apricot poodle who packed a tremendous enthusiasm for life into a spindly 13 pound body. He lived for tennis balls, cookies and the nearest warm lap. He loved his two canine companions and adored his three feline companions, engaging in reciprocal face grooming on a regular basis. He twirled and danced and sang like a pro when a loved one came through the door.
Rascal had lived with diabetes for several years. He had recurring health problems and was on a variety of medications. Yet, he was a tough guy and always pulled through.
We had a Christmas portrait done by Debra Bell as it was part of a fundraiser for the Furry Friends Food Bank, a program of Eastern Area Agency on Aging. It was a wonderful experience and the dogs were excited about modeling and meeting new people. The photos were adorable.
We had no way of knowing, even though Rascal’s health was compromised, that this would be the last professional portrait that we would have of him. We were making plans for “next year’s pictures” but sadly that was not to be. Rascal lost his fifth battle with pancreatitis on March 2. He left an enormous hole in all of our lives.
We are so grateful that we had the portraits done. They are extremely special to us and we cherish them. We have fond memories of the day and joy in remembering our little guy beaming as the camera clicked.
We all take pictures of our pets but a professional portrait is different. It has a quality and a warmth that can only be obtained by a professional. We will always remember that day and are very glad we made the decision to have the portraits done. It is a great way to honor a pet.

Deb Bell of Bell Imaging and Design has completed several photography and graphic design projects for us personally and for our business, Green Acres Kennel Shop. In each case, she completed the projects with the epitome of professionalism, in a timely manner, with the utmost attention to detail and for a very fair price.
