Bell Imaging & Design is a photo studio in Hermon Maine specializing in lifestyle pet portraits.

It’s all about pets at Bell Imaging & Design. I own a Maine coon cat named Olivia as well as a greyhound named Laura. My associate photographer Jesse Schwartz is the proud pet mom of a black lab named Pie.

When I started doing pet portraits, I immediately knew that I didn’t want to stick to a studio. I knew that to get truly natural pet photographs I needed to go where they live… where they play. I decided to offer lifestyle pet portraits and would go where the pets were: at home and in natural outdoor spaces.

What’s a session like?

That’s one of the first questions I get when talking about pet portrait sessions. A session is simple: it’s all about your pet and having fun.

We’ll chat before your pet’s session to decide the best place to meet: at home, in a field or favorite trail, or in the studio. We’ll talk about what your pet loves to do (play ball, go for a walk, hang out on the couch) and about your pet’s personality. We’ll also talk about any special accommodations. And we’ll plan out how you want to use the images.

The key to lifestyle pet portraits is to know what their “lifestyle” is. Once the session starts, we’ll take it slow or fast depending on your pet. Some pets LOVE to have their picture taken and some hate it. I work with both and I love it.

We’ll play ball, snuggle, or just hang, all based on your pet’s comfort level. And you’ll have fun while also helping your pet have fun.

Did I mention we have fun? By the time the session is over, you should be happy and your pet should be tired. In my experience, a tired pet is a happy pet. And to create truly accurate lifestyle pet portraits, it’s all about helping your pet express their true personality.

We’ll also talk about any special accommodations (such as a fear of flashing light or a shyness around the camera).

I like taking photos of my pet. Why should I use you?

I love taking photos of my pets too. And you should take pictures of your pet. There’s no question about that.

But have you ever gotten frustrated that your pet won’t look at the camera, runs away from the camera, or simply won’t cooperate? Hiring a professional, like me, gives you an advantage. While you interact with your pet, I’ll create beautiful, fun, relaxed images.

You’ll have fun, your pet will have fun, and the images will reflect your pets’ inner spirit.

I also have access to high quality photo finishing services as well as to companies that produce high end products such as ornaments, greeting cards, photo books, canvas wraps, large prints, and gift prints.

In essence, I help you love your pet more through truly representative pet portraits. Sure you can get a few good candids, but can you show your pet’s true personality? Will it stress you (or your pet) out to take photos of her? Your pet deserves great images.

Will you sit, stay, and play? I hope so. Give me a call and we’ll speak about it.
